If anyone has ever complained to you about the core, have the complaints sent to Nick Novotny. If you haven’t talked to constituency yet, you are not doing your job.
Old Business: -Resolution 091719-01: Jacob has shared resolution with Kim Lammers and staff. Added “perceiving” clause after talking to them. Approved of form as it is. PASSED, with friendly amendment from Maggie.
-Resolution 090919-01: Changes in second paragraph (“recognizing”) and at the very end (“approves”). Josh Hlavaty- gotten same sort of questions from commuters and basketball teams. What is the definition of a diverse student who would fall under your department? Terri- students with different backgrounds, different experiences, different identities=diverse. This position offers someone who can speak on an experience that cannot be spoken by the majority. Katy- PR person will be putting out info on it. Justin- should this position be on exec board? Liaison with different administrative offices. Nathan- also religious life then? Exec board liaisons to departments, not rep constituency. Jacob N.- Being on exec board unless you’re president/vp, you’re chairing a new committee. Is there a good case for a diversity/inclusion committee? Dana- Elected in spring? Everything but housing and college reps should be elected in the spring. Goal: have every seat possible elected in spring. Special election this time around. Potential ad hoc committee for diversity/inclusion. Ashley Schaar- Spoken to constituents in senior housing- backlash from minorities if rep is not a member of a minority? Nathan- not representative or indicative of position itself. Yes, backlash, but would arrive from ignorance on their own part of the candidate’s def of diversity. Go take it up with department. Educate student body based on what the office believes diversity is. Jacob- should not be based off the color of one’s skin. PASSED.
New Business: N/A
General Concerns: Computer near printer in student center does not work. Student sent Nathan email with concerns: mail room online 9-5, irl 10-4. Not able to split methods of payment. Eagles nest is short-staffed, 40 mins for one egg muffin sandwich. Cannot order two different places in one transaction on grub hub. No printer in Kettering. Early arrival at school, swipes don’t start until Sunday night before school starts. Big concern for international students. 13-hour student work limit: supervisor told Nathan to email Crystal to ask for permission to work 16 hours a week. Worked. Shelby did not have the same interaction with her. Abby: Cameras in fraternity circle are terrible, had stuff stolen from houses. Maggie: grubhub- if you are ordering a coffee, you can’t fill up swipe with out of all the convenience item. At nest, still give out styrofoam boxes if you don’t use green box. Should be more environmentally-conscious. Date for provisional charter for clubs: Nov 8. Go on engage, application. Tapngo/grubhub issue?-Jacob will check on it. Justin- wifi issues in res halls and fraternity circle. Kicked out of blackboard during assignment, penalized for it. Ashley-Couldn’t send tests in, videos didn’t work on blackboard. Printers stop working off and on. Shelby- wifi in senior apartments absolutely awful. Wifi goes down at least once a night. Nathan-Some printers being replaced, in the process of being replaced. In past week. Myers- haven’t had any problems. Jacob Brown- dauch printers being replaced, will be a bit. Nick- Had to change car out, received bad customer service.

People hotboxing in car nearby fraternity circle, student center, freshman dorms. Students. Townies? Dana- submitted ticket to IT, not fixed within 3 weeks. Contact marketing people, did not respond. Durpal website, allows to change AU website- no matches. Shelby- 8 people approached her about meal plans, still getting charged if they ask for a gluten free bun in nest- 10-50 cents extra. Jacob tried to ask if that would ever change, responded with “I don’t think so, honey.” Switched over to unlimited plan. Write testimonies. Jacob Brown, Jacob Nestle, Shelby get together. Puts them over a swipe. Work orders- facilities really backed up. Sent work order about garbage disposal two weeks ago, not responded, becoming a larger and larger issue. Justin Politzer- professors send business majors to job days, events, not given credit but penalized if they don’t go. Might not be going into those careers. Doing it in lieu of what they are supposed to be learning. Not related to majors. Kaitlin- intent is to get life skills, good. Normally 50-1:15, during class time. Nathan: extra credit? Ashley- Some give extra credit as long as there is a reflection written. Sky: what a lot of departments do, to give you experience. Every single gallery opening, have to go to English speakers. Sabrina- Encourage Justin and other senators to speak to students. Should not be discussing whether justified or not. Contact Katlin and Nick. Think of ways to get that info out to students, if it isn’t something they should be worried about. Sky- brought up two weeks ago- Asian bowls not on grub hub. More info? Issue with coding. Katy- IT- backlogged on things. Ashbrook center having issues, IT never showed up. Dr. Nadler asked for some programs at the beginning of the summer, still have not showed up.
